The Premier League title holders, Manchester City has been banned by UEFA from participating in all of its cup competitions for 2 years that is until the 2022-23 season along with a fine of 30 million dollar for breaching Uefa's Financial Fair Play policy.

Uefa's financial control body announced that Manchester City has been found guilty of violating their financial fair play regulations. The FFP policy keeps check under clubs for misusing money which may increase the gap between rich and poor clubs.

Their participation is worth about 100 million dollars, missing out on which could draw players and even the caoch out of the club. Manchester is blostered with world class talents and is considered one the best football clubs in the world right now. The clubs's missing out on Champions league football can force players to consider their future again wiht the club.

Although they have recieved ban for two years they will not be barred from this years Champions League. Manchester City are scheduled to play Real Madrid on 25th february in the 1st leg of round of 16. Manchester city can also delay the ban if the matter doesn't get resolved by the end of the season.

Manchester city currently stand on the second spot in the Premier league table. The measures taken by Uefa can influence Premier league to charge the club on account of their own cost regulations.
In march, last year Premier league released a statement that they were keeping a check on the financial information that the club provided them. It was reported that manchester city provided false information about their finanacial activites including a sponsorship deal. Although that didn't came to any conclusion and the Premier league refused to comment on the case.
Now with Uefa imposing a ban on Manchester city, Premier league may also do the same charging some fine along with point deduction in the table even relegating them to a lower league and stripping them off of all their titles while none of these are confirmed.

Shortly after the news broke out City issued a statement that they would appeal against the ruling by Uefa. Its not the first time City had made an aggressive attempt against decisions by Uefa.
Powerful clubs always find a way to escape the penalties. The rumours last year were that Uefa would impose a one year ban on Manchester City although it didn't happened.

It remains to be seen what does the end of this season brings for Manchester City and its players.
